AAFT are pleased to announce their first ‘Alpaca Fleece Master Class’ in the UK

  • How to maximise the value of fleeces through effective fleece skirting. Topic will include lecture, demonstrations and hands-on practise (Co-presented by Emma Taylor & Paul Vallely)
  • Traits that reveal genetic superiority for quality fleece production
  • Update on latest fibre measurement technology including the use of ‘Trimming of guard fibres (presented by Paul Vallely)
  • We will also be releasing details of the ‘UK Quality Alpaca’ project aimed at compiling & show casing alpaca to the premium garment sector.


Emma Taylor co-owns East Anglia Alpaca Mill and handles, advises & processes many fleeces every year. Emma is a very active member of the BAS, owns Alpacas of East Anglia & is passionate about alpacas & the fibre they produce.

Paul Vallely is the MD of AAFT P/L. He has coordinated major fleece projects in Australia, provided fleece consultancy across the world & currently sources fibre for the Italian fashion trade.
